MELANGE: The Literary
Fest
25 April – 2 May 2022
Reading encourages children to explore and imagine, build vocabulary, derive connections between stories and their own lives, and ultimately become lifelong readers as well as curious and independent learners.
The library as a dynamic space to nurture a reading community helps children
to discover the joy of reading with amplifying impact. We, at DAV Public School,
Sector-14, Gurugram, are committed to the goal of promoting Reading Literacy,
supporting UN Sustainable Development Goal 4- Quality Education for All. The Literary Festival – Melange is
celebrated every year to celebrate Books and Reading.
As a part of being our proud association with CBSE Reading Mission,
Melange 2022 for classes I to VIII is based on “Storyweaver” (an open-access
digital repository of stories for children from Pratham Books). It gives access
to a wide range of stories set in locations they can recognize, featuring
characters they can identify through curated activities supporting various
themes.

This
theme promotes the idea and an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and
commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its
people, culture, and achievements.
This Mahotsav is
dedicated to the people of India who have been instrumental in bringing India
thus far in its evolutionary journey.
Azadi ka
AmritMahotsav is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s
socio-cultural, political, and economic identity. The official journey of “Azadi
ka AmritMahotsav” commences on 12th March 2021 which starts a 75-week
countdown to our 75th anniversary of Independence.
Melange Festival
covers this theme through an array of activities ranging from Poster making,
creating Videos on Events Narration from India’s Freedom Struggle, patriotic
Songs, Book Marks, Documentaries, Slogans, and a lot of more. The activities for the
event are designed in such a manner that they spur interest in books and
reading, ignite the spirit of patriotism, improve literacy scores, increase
librarian-teacher interaction and transform the School Learning Resource Centres
into inspirational spaces.
